THE 4 Rs OF WASTE MANAGEMENT
In accordance with EU Directives, waste management in Spain establishes that all companies and public authorities have the specific responsibility to contribute to sustainable development by applying the 4 Rs:
- REDUCE: reducing the amount of material or facilitating recycling using the same materials.
- REUSE: using the same container for the same use several times.
- RECYCLE: returning the material to the market.
- RECOVER ENERGY: using the materials as combustion fuel to recover their calorific value.
